Inspired by Fountains Abbey - one of my favourite places - this piece explores the way sunlight lingers on water, feeling almost weightless.

This painting became less about the literal landscape and more about that sensation of stillness - where trees, sky, and water merge to create an atmosphere, and gold drifts quietly above the surface.

In creating this, I wanted to hold onto the feeling that light, like us, chooses its own places to pause and rest.

This is an acrylic painting on a 80 x 60cm box canvas with painted edges.
