About Me

Contemporary abstract art inspired by nature, emotion, and the quiet beauty of everyday spaces.

My name is Stephanie Ma, a contemporary artist born in 1992.

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to creating. As a child, I was rarely without a pencil in hand, sketching anything and everything that caught my attention. Drawing became a quiet way of observing the world around me and expressing what words often could not.

After some years working in the corporate world, I found myself longing for more creativity in my daily life. That desire eventually led me back to art and to rediscovering a passion that had always been present. Having not painted in four years — and only occasionally before that — I chose to step outside the familiarity of pencil drawing and pick up a paintbrush.

Inspired by personal experiences, along with a deep appreciation for nature and interior design, I began exploring contemporary abstract art as a way to communicate emotion and atmosphere. My work is guided by intuition, allowing each piece to develop organically through layers, movement, texture, and tone. Every painting becomes its own narrative — created not only to be seen, but to be felt.

To me, art is more than visual decoration. It is a way of holding space. Through subtle composition, my work aims to evoke a sense of quiet intimacy and stillness.

At its heart, my practice is about creating pieces that gently transform a space — inviting a moment of pause, reflection, and connection.
